ADDO ELEPHANT NATIONAL PARK
Overview
Addo Elephant National Park offers a world of biodiversity in one park. It’s South Africa’s third-largest park and has expanded to conserve a wide range of wildlife, landscapes, fauna, and flora.
Climate
ADDO Elephant National Park features a temperate-to-hot climate. Summer (November–February) can top 40°C. Winter days are mild, but nights are cold, with occasional frost. The park averages about 450 mm of rainfall annually, with peaks often in February/March and October/November.
Day visitors
You don’t need a booking for a day visit unless you want to join organized activities.
Day visitors can enjoy many activities: wildlife viewing from your own vehicle, guided game drives, horse rides, hiking trails, the bird hide, the PPC Discovery Trail, picnics and braais, the shop, and the restaurant.
You can also take day trips to the park’s outlying areas—the Zuurberg Mountains, Kabouga, Darlington Dam, and Woody Cape.
